Podoactiva and Avantmèdic inaugurate their new elite unit in Lleida



This morning, members of Podoactiva and Avantmèdic, a reference center for specialized medicine in Lleida, inaugurated the new Avantmèdic Elite Podoactive Unit. It is a new space equipped with the latest technology to carry out biomechanical studies of walking and running with the Podoactiva protocol, and the development of different treatments such as custom templates.

The goal is for the new unit to be a point of reference in foot care for athletes and amateurs, for this reason it has been incorporated latest technology in clinical diagnosis and a 20 meter long athletics track for race analysis. In addition, it has a cabinet pedicure for foot care (calluses, calluses, papillomas…).

The inauguration of this unit was attended by Josep Maria Pujol, president of Avantmèdic, Víctor Alfaro, general director of Podoactiva, and various personalities from the society and sport from the region, such as the athlete Iván Espílez, with whom an in situ demonstration of the study of gait and footfall.

“At Podoactiva we serve some 2.000 elite athletes from Spain and abroad. The objective is to improve the performance of these athletes and prevent injuries with podiatric treatments and studies through study and research, which is carried out by our R+D+i department”, explained the podiatrist Victor Alfaro. For its part, Monica Reverse, general director of Avantmedic, has pointed out that “it is a pleasure to continue working together with Podoactiva. The expansion of this space in Avantmèdic aims to continue offering our patients the best podiatry services thanks to Podoactiva technology”.

This new unit incorporates all the exclusive Podoactiva technology to offer the most innovative treatments in terms of podiatry and biomechanics, having specific treatments for athletes, children or the elderly. “All our elite centers have an athletics track, it is the best way to analyze the footprint and reproduce a real environment, especially for athletes. But we also treat more common pathologies to people of all ages. For example, we carry out gait studies to prevent injuries such as plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, repetitive sprains, etc.”
